haha... It's a special day today cos more than 1000 people(according to TV3 news) attended the KL Freeze event at Bukit Bintang today.
To those whom have not heard, it's an event where we people... gather at one spot and freeze ourselves for a few minutes in the public.
We all got invited(or somehow stumbled) into this KL Freeze facebook page and that was how we got to know about it.
We gathered at LOT 10 at about 230pm today... yes.... that 1000 people swarmed into the mall and all waited for the organisors to give out the details of the freeze.
at about 3pm everyone sorta like got themselves a small orange paper... see below.
so we slowly walked over to Pavilion.
Suddenly Bukit Bintang was packed with ppl. Suddenly LOT10 no more people. ahahaha
and here we are... our Freeze Point.
we took some photos before we start freezing at 3.35pm.
at 3.35pm... every single human in Pavilion froze all of a sudden! ahhaa its like Hiro Nakamura stopped time kinda thing.
WATCH THE VIDEO! DAMN NICE ahahahaha
(if ur wondering whos the lady in pink, thats my mum)... and to those who didnt get to make it, wish u were here. :)
WOOOOOOOT! Its sunday! No POPCRAP for today cos i wanna finish my Sydney photos fast fast.
so this is the 2nd last Sydney post d... wooohoooo...
and all these photos were taken using my N95 after the 3 hours fine dining dinner.
after the dinner, we went back to hotel to refresh ourselves and we went out for a drink.
on the way to the harbour, I saw hungry jacks! aka burger king in kl. lol
fuah! never seen a fitness first truck b4.... so must take foto. lol
we finally reached harbourfront.
the rest of the gang(some new friends I met there) requested for me to not post their photos.... cos some of 'em are working in some reputable companies...
the bars had to close and we had to leave lo... surprisingly they close damn early... like 1am lidat
and on the way back to the hotel... we realised we were the only people on the streets. ahahhahaha so must do siao things.
... and so we settled down at the restaurant at about 7pm and waited for the food servers to come and take down our orders.
The guy came quite fast actually.
we then ordered and the guy left our table.
then we talked and talked and talked... and after 30 minutes, there was still no food.
we all started complaining... and 10 more minutes later, our starter came.
it was damn nice...! probably cos we were too hungry after waiting for 40 minutes.
we finished the lil seafood plate in just 5 minutes.... and we waited again.
10 minutes passed.
15 minutes passed.
20 minutes passed.
i got bored. i walked out of the restaurant to take some photos outside.
after 5 minutes... i came back. everyone looked sad and hungry.
we waited again.
30 minutes passed since our starter.
40 minutes passed...
41... 42.... 43..... 44...... 45.......
50 minutes passed.... and our main dish was served!
thats all? main dish? so small portion? but nobody cared already.. cos everyone was busy stuffing themselves with their selected dish. Mine was the fish.... but seriously its damn tasty.. slurp!
and were happy again... and chit chat a little while waiting for our dessert to come.
... guess what... we waited again.
for another 30 minutes before our desert was served. SIAO CAN! i cannot tahan d.
HOW CAN I SPEND 3 HOURS SITTING THERE DOING NOTHING AND LET MY LIFE JUST WASTED LIKE THAT?
i was pissed........... GRRRRRRRRRR
I waved for the waiter. He came over and I politely ask him a question with a smile.
"hi, just wondering, is it normal for the people here to spend 3-4 hours just for a meal?"
... and he replied "well this is a fine dining restaurant and we serve only quality food! This is not a fast food restaurant! You want fast food, go to McDonalds or something.."
I was stunned... and replied "er.. okkaayy"
Everyone at the table was looking at me and laughed hahaahhaa kena marah...
our chocolate thingy finally got served after 40 minutes.
Posted on 09 April 2008 - 9:01 am What are you doing?
I update my blog once a day. Showing you photos of what I do daily... my trips... my gadgets... my friends... my outings.
... but have you ever wondered what I do between each blogposts? Stuff I do like "drinking coffee at Starbucks" or "taking photos of a pen in the store room"...
Well you can now know all about it if you "follow" me on Twitter!
Instead of asking people "what are you doing?" why not let them tell you automatically? haha
1. Register an account at Twitter. 2. Go to http://twitter.com/smashpop 3. Click on "follow" under my photo. 4. Go to Settings > Phone & IM 5. Insert your phone number, SMS a code given to the Twitter number to verify. 6. Click on "following" on your right side bar, look for my name. 7. Switch "device update" to ON (this means you will get SMS whenever I update my Twitter. 8. Tick the radio button on the right side bar to "Phone" instead of "IM" 9. Get your friends to join and start telling them "What are you currently doing!" :D
so... after the boat ride, we went back to the hotel and slept.
The next day at about 9am, we attended the Nokia Music Store discussion at the ballroom.
We discussed about the newly launched Nokia's music service.
At the end of the session, the host played some tracks of his N95 and those who can guess the songs right gets a reward.
We then went over to the next ballroom to experience N-gage.
There are a few booths showcasing the latest N-gage games and we had to play all of them in a contest that everyone took part in.
The next session was the opportunity to interview all the Managers of the different departments for Nokia... since we went as Media... we get to ask anything we want regarding the few segments like Nseries, Nokia Music, Nokia Maps, OVI... etc
One of the big guys in from Nokia demonstrating Share on OVI to us.
It all ended at about 3pm. Dinner was at 630pm... so we went back to our rooms to rest.
Posted on 08 April 2008 - 8:32 am Back at the Harbour
To those following me on Twitter and has been wishing me well, thanks a lot. :D .. im very much recovered now.
ok a few more photos of the new phones... oops.. i mean.. Nokia Multimedia Computers.
The front face of the N78 is totally flat. When the keypads are not in use, only the appropriate keys will be lit up. Damn chun.
16gb built in memory not enough? You can plug in an 8gb micro sd card and you get 24GB!!!! holy cow thats a lot of space!
Thanks PaulTan for taking these shots for me
One will most likely be watching Live TV or movies on the N96.. so Nokia has made it so that the silver ring around the camera lens 'pOppable' so u can stand your n96 on the table.
Helo Navigator!
and thats it! The boat brought us back to the harbour and we went back to the hotel after that.
Posted on 07 April 2008 - 11:46 pm N96, N78 and 6210
ok after 1 week of random stuff and wireless challenge stories, let's get back to our Sydney photos.
Remember the dancers led us to the top floor of the boat?
There, we got to try out all the new and upcoming Nokia models.
First up, the Nokia N96.
Its the successor of the current N95. Built in 16GB internal memory, 5mpx camera with Carl Zeiss optics, WIFI, 3g, 2.8" screen, DVB-H(thats live TV), memory card support up to 8GB and much more.
That's the N96 compared to my N95. hehe
Watch this video of me asking the Nokia crew to show me something that the N96 can do.
Next up. The Nokia 6210 Navigator
It's the successor of the famous 6110 navigator but this one is a lot better. It has 3.2mpx camera and built in Nokia Maps 2.0... means you can now activate satellite view and see real life images of the map.
It has a built in compass too! Don't know how it works?
Watch this video below! The Nokia manager telling me how to work with the GPS and built in compass.
What else was there? The Nokia N78 of course.
Remember N73? Anyone of you guys using? Well this one is the newer version of the same thing. What is so special about this model?
It's still using 3mpx camera with autofocus... but it now has WIFI!
The N78 also comes with FM transmitter. What's that? Well... you can set your N78 to broadcast at a certain radio frequency.. lets say... 92.9fm.. and you can tune your car radio(or watever radio) to the same frequency and you can listen to the mp3s played on the N78! How cool is that. ahhaa
Posted on 06 April 2008 - 10:38 pm N82 Challenge in short
I cannot tahan d!!!!!!! I must post more photos from the Nokia N82 Wireless Challenge!!!! lolololol
This is just a summarised version ok. I'll go deep into the details again after my Sydney, Redang and birthday posts. :D
On friday evening, we were gathered at the hotel function room and all of us got ourselves an N82.
Happy can! We all spent like 30minutes playing before the briefing commenced.
8 members of the public and 8 members of the media will form 8 teams, each comprises of 1 media + 1 public.
and as randomly picked from the members of the public, Szeto was assigned to be my team mate! WOOT!! Wassup Szeto!
Nokia was generous enough to let us stay a night at One World Hotel.. the night before the challenge.
My roommate, David! ahhahaha. That's my legs btw. We took too many photos in the room together that my memory cards were quickly filled wihout me realising.
The next day, we had breakfast and then David, Szeto and I went 1U to buy 'socks' for our N82s.
Lunch at Bakerzin was a treat by Nokia too. Damn nice food.
The media interview and briefing took place at about 3pm.
Pinkpau suggested we took a photo of ourselves, the 4 invited bloggers for the race. (Pinkpau, me, Kimberlycun, Suanie)(Photo taken using my N95)
The race then started with a Nokia marshal and a videographer assigned to each team to follow us around.
We were given 5 themes and we have to go around KL to take 5 photos for each theme using our N82.
Each team gets a Nissan Cefiro and a driver too... to transport us to anywhere we wanna go. (this photo taken using my N82)
The race ended at 930pm. Our photos were judged by a few judges and while waiting for the results we took photos.
Thats our team! Kelvin, me, Szeto and Melvin.
Thats me and Szeto... we were at 2nd place! and Suanie's team got 1st place and they won tickets to Hongkong and RM1500 spending money each.
ok thats it! lol thats the summary of the whole N82 challenge.
Oh here's a video... of a video of us.. during the N82 handover at the hotel.
